I know, I know, it's taken me until right before Halloween to have it done, but here it is.
The hood was a pain the the butt, I'll tell you that much.
I cut out a half circle on the fold so that I could sew it all the way around and it still be a half circle. I put just a little bit of stuffing in it and closed it up.
I then proceeded to sew on the pieces of mop head. That took forever!
After that I sewed the eyeballs on to the top.
Next came the teeth. Those are just cut out of a white piece of felt, and I hot glued them on. Yup I cut corners with a hot glue gun.
Finally, attaching it. I didn't want to sew on snaps, so I just safety pinned it on instead of sewing it on. This way it could move back and forth with ease.
Lily hates to wear anything on her head, so let's see how it goes tonight. She loved wearing the body part, so at least she'll keep that on.
I will certainly post pictures of the finished product on, and I 'll show off my Mike Wazowski costume as well.
I play the role of super mommy, kick-ass girlfriend, and hard working employee every day. Now I have to add baby baker to the list for the next few months as well. Most days I lose my mind in the middle of the day, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

My attempt at making a Monster's Inc costume
I figured since Halloween is a couple of weeks away I had better get crackin' on little miss Lily's costume. I figured since she LOVES Monster's Inc and looks an awful lot like Boo that is what we'll go with.
I started today, and so far it doesn't look too bad. I got a couple of yards of some purple foil dot fabric, some poly stuffing, a couple of styrofoam balls, black pipe cleaners, and I broke out my trusty sewing machine.
I am working on the body part first since that seemed the easiest. I just measured Lily (added a few inches for seam allowance and stuffing), sewed a big rectangle and some lines across it. Then I stuffed it and cut out the arm holes. After that I closed those up around the edges so the stuffing wouldn't pop out.
Here is what I have so far.
I'll just close up the back with some of those big silver clips that you use to hold files together since that is what it looks like in the movie.
The hood is my next step. I still need to pick up a mop head for that, but I am not looking forward to it since it does seem a bit more difficult.
Anywho, when all is said and done she'll just wear a white long sleeve shirt and some white leggings under it, and her hair will of course go up in some piggy tails.
